What is going on? (post by Marina)

Hi readers!, how is your summer? Mine is great. Relaxing and just calm as I want it. How are you liking the New York blog? I will be back in about 3 weeks. However, I thought I would give you a update of what is going on in my life and also what is new in the fashion world.
I wont be here for Stockholm fashion week but if you want to go here is the schedule for the shows.

Also, the New York and Paris schedules are up! Fantastic. Perhaps I will be at Paris fashion week.

Some new campaign are here as well. I have been waiting for the Stella McCartney campaign and here it is, so beautiful! Natalie Vodianova is just magical. This one is close to being my favorite this season. I love the simpleness with the playfullness, brilliant.

More images from the Balenciaga campaign which is really on fire. I find it interesting though. Something about it feels very modern.

Another favorite, Jil Sander. Kasia Struss and Miranda Kerr by Willy Vanderperre. As always with Jil Sander, minimalistic, magical and beautiful.

Another one by beautiful Céline.

There is also some sad news in the fashion world. Marc Jacobs recently broke up with his boyfriend Lorenzo Martone. He is not commenting on it. However, the world of Marc Jacobs is just growing. On his show date (Sept. 15) he will be opening up his talked about bookstore, Bookmarc. Like this is not enough. Marc is also, on the same date, launching his e-commerce site for US customers. The site will also have different items than can be found on other retailers that sell Jacobs’s wares online. Congratulations Marc!

Sofia Coppola is directing for Dior again.  Coppola was snapped just short of a week ago filming a Dior advertisement in Paris; she reportedly worked with Natalie Portman, who signed to be the face of Parfums Christian Dior last month, and her cousin Robert Schwartzman (brother to Jason Schwartzman) in the Parc Monceau last Monday and Tuesday.

There also plenty of other rumors in the fashion world right now and I can not wait to see how this will turn out. The rumors are saying that three unnamed designer are shifting houses. Stefano Pilati is leaving Yves Saint Laurent for Armani, and Armani himself is retaring. Who will then take over at YSL? Well, the rumor is saying that no other than Hedi Slimane is. Interesting.

This is so exciting, I almost can not wait. I love ballet and I love Rodarte. Sisters Laura and Kate Mulleavy designed 40 costumes for the film Black Swan by Darren Aronofsky (which will open the Venice Film Festival on Sept. 1 ). The thriller is starring Natalie Portman as a ballerina. Beautiful.

Art news. The wonderfull Whitney museum has plans for a new loction, the meatpacking district. The building, set to be completed in 2015 and will probably be extraordinary.

And here is what I have been doing..

Swedish Summer..

Then I left Sweden..

Having loads of fish this summer..

Hanging out with cute french cousins..

Best friends..

Remi Nights..

Love Bridge..

My grandpa in our vineyard..

Vineyard..

Maca..

Holding my Baby..

Visiting chateaus..

Visiting one of my favorite cities in the world, Belgrade..

Living in my leather shorts..

Then, the best brother in the world came to visit me with beautiful gifts..

Not to forget. I found the most beautiful jewelry you could imagine. Silver and stones, all unique. Rings, Bracelets, Necklaces, Earrings. They are all so beautiful. I wont be needing jewelry anytime soon..

Now I am off to Spain for two weeks or so, Hola!

There is always something really special about resort collections if you ask me. Perhaps it is the limited line, or the feeling of the collections, the design and style of it, or perhaps it is just me who always seems to like the resort collections the most.
Marc Jacobs resort girl for 2011 is very girly in a sixties style with pastel color palette. The collection is flirty and fun, what Marc does the best.

Nicolas Ghesquière continues to be futuristic with Balenciaga. For resort 2011 he also got a bohemian theme. The prints are very  technological/liberty. This collection is not one of my favorites. It just feels to far away.

Rag & Bone, a New York favorite. Designers Marcus Wainwright and David Neville always seem to get it right. Their clothes are hard to describe, perhaps because they are simply perfect. For resort 2011 they paired black and grey with red (love) and a mustardyellow color. They layering is magical and this is by far one of the best resort collections I have seen. The last look will probably be stuck in my head for a while.

Stella McCartney, another favorite. How can you not love her? Her resort 2011 presention was a fun gardenparty. Beautiful blue and red tones with gorgeous flower prints and of course some beige. The mens inspired pieces are there and so are the dresses to die for. The cuts are hard, and the shapes are soft. Stella sure knows how to dress women.

Zac Posen is showing his spring 2011 collection in Paris this time. I used to like Zac Posen’s designs and now I feel like they are a bit tacky, boring and to much lady-like. His resort 2011 collection has some interesting designs, like the dresses seen below.

Helmut Lang, oh Helmut Lang my love. This too is a collection I can not describe in words. Magical, it the word. Black, white, minimalistic, flattering shapes and beautiful layers. I am very excited over those loose black trousers.

Paris Fashion Week, Stella McCartney, Vanessa Bruno, YSL

Posted by Marina Milojkovic Mar, 2010 at 6:12 under Collections

Stella McCartney is one of the best designers out there if you ask me. She really understands women. The pieces are always comfortable and you feel beautiful in them. There are so many good looks for fall 2010. The collection is sexy yet classy.

For fall 2010 Vanessa Bruno was inspired by people going to their dance classes. Dressed comfortable in leggings and clothes that move. This is a brilliant idea if you ask me. Beautiful.

Stefano Pilati may not have said it himself. However, the religious symbolism is everywhere for his fall 2010 collection. Not one of my favorite collection I have to say.

More ads from Stella McCartney. They are so beautiful and this is for sure one of my favorite collections this season. Natalia Vodianova is perfect for this.

Stella McCartney SS 10

Stella McCartney really is a beautiful designer and her campaigns are always good. I love how she mixes beauty with imagination. This season Natalia Vodianova is wearing that gorgeous red dress with a cuty puppy in the background. Lovely.
